1: DDRO -AKUAKU (ITALIK DUBREE EDIT) |
|
| The
synth-beep with echo at the start of this
track definitely heralds a piece of DUB Art
that will wipe away all prejudice that might
have been there concerning Russian
Reggae.
|
|
| TRACK
2: BPM'S OF JOY - MEDITATION DUB |
|
| The
faster the better, one would say, with a
name like that. Truth is, that the joy is
more than enough on the pace of this upfull
steppers tune with lots of nice guitar work.

3: BPM'S OF JOY AND BOOKAH - THE WORLD GOES
CRAZY (DUBREE STEPPERS EDIT) |
|
| Yes,
the Melodica is there too. After all, in a
way, the Russian Dub Sound is a Far East
Sound too. The world might go crazy, but
with some DUB Enjoyment, stepping outa
Babylon just goes a little bit more easy.

4: DDRO AND PREECHA KUNGO - FRUSTRATED |
|
| Preecha
Kungo isn't that unknown for those
interested in the WorldWide DUB Movement,
but the general public may not have heard of
him. That's about to change, though....
|
|
| TRACK
5: DDRO AND PREECHA KUNGO - FRUSTRATED
(YOSEPH LIONS' DUB) |
|
| The
DUB Version of "Frustrated" takes
us deeper into the Roots Vibrations that
shake Russia and in fact the World. Deep
bass, nuff extra synthesizers, echo's
galore!
|
|
| TRACK
6: REBELSTEPPA - MISSION (DDRO REFIX) |
|
| He's
on a Mission, and he's kind of determined as
well: Rebelsteppa's first contribution to
this wonderful compilation hits hard, harder
than many UK Dubs even!
|
|
| TRACK
7: REBELSTEPPA - STARLIGHTA DUB |
|
| Was
that a lighter? Yes, it was! Let's join the
Rebelsteppa, and light up a star if you know
what he means. Ire vibrations fe true, ones
you simply can't refuse!
|
|
| TRACK
8: YOSEPH LION AND PANAMA PROPHET -
ALLMIGHTY DUB |
|
| When
you want to hear how Toasting sounds inna
Russian, this is the tune for you. Based on
a Rub a Dub riddim, the Lion and the Prophet
chant up to the Most High because there is
no speech or language where Jah Voice is not
heard!
|
|
| TRACK
9: YOSEPH LION - MYRICAL DUB |
|
| With
the speed of light, Myrical DUB carries a
hard hitting steppers drum beat along with a
synthesizer bass that was so familiar in the
1980's when Jammy popularized it with the
Sleng Teng riddim.

10: CULTURE GENERAL - JAH |
|
| When
Russia was still the Soviet Union, and the
communists were at the control, they
wouldn't let you worship the Creator. The
communists claimed, just like the Beatles,
how they were stronger than the Lord, but
this simple DUB delivers the powerful
message that JAH IS AT THE CONTROLS!
|
|
| TRACK
11: CULTURE GENERAL - DUB PROPHET |
|
| The
DUB Prophet comes with a steppers rhythm and
several effects to spice up the oh so catchy
tune. This is the kind of DUB that will make
a whole crowd dance, even when they wouldn't
know what they were dancing too. Why? Cause
Prophesy must Fulfill!

| TRACK
12: ITALIK DUBREE - TRANSFORMATION (1) |
|
| Roland's
electronic Drums caused a revolution in the
already revolutionary time where the digital
technologies began to appeal to more and
more and more people. A transformational
time, reflected in this upfull Dub.
|
|
| TRACK
13: ITALIK DUBREE - TRANSFORMATION (2) |
|
| The
beat goes on, but definitely in a different
style. The steppers have disappeared and
changed in a more relaxed set of patterns.
The bass goes lower, lower than the lowest bass guitar
can ever go.

14: CHE-BACK - MUSIC FOR SALE |
|
| Indeed:
the tune sounds like a cash machine on some
very high grade of sinsemillia. Music is for
sale, but sales remain to be an ugly
business. Something like that...
|
|
| TRACK
15: CHE-BACK - MUSIC FOR SALE (DUBREE MNML
VERSION) |
|
| When
Dubree enters the Studio, he's watching at
Che-Back's Cash Machine and wants to take a
turn too. This one is just too nice to
refuse, and so he goes....
|
|

16: DDRO - AKUAKU (AUTOMYSTIC INDIAN SUMMER
VERSION ) |
|
| As
it was in the beginning, so shall it be in
the end, just a little bit different. That
can be said about this wonderful compilation
of Russian DUB, and so it is. A deeper
version of Akuaku (I guess we can guess what
it means) closes off a set of tunes that
together form more advertizement for Russia
than all the tourist agencies of the world
together.
