ARTISTS - LOST IN DUB
DUBROOM
MP3 ALBUM REVIEW |
WWW,
January 2021 - Over one and a half hour of
pure DUB Niceneness, and let's do a little
name dropping to proof the point in an
instant: Conscious Sounds (Dougie Wardrop),
Vibronics, Dubcreator and the Shiloh Ites
label featuring the incredibly talented JAH
Melody. Belgium based DUB Reservoir did it
once again!
The twenty
two tracks on the compilation fit well
together, even though they al have their own
specific vibes. Well done selection to say
the least. Take the second track, mixed by
the Dutch Dubcreator. A Discomix, that is a
vocal track followed by it's Dub version.
Heavyweight sounds from Amsterdam. Not just
veterans on this compilation, though. Irie
Ilodica from Belgium, for example. Cool
Dubwise for real.

IGL
& ALECHO - FROM A DROPLET
DUBROOM
MP3 ALBUM REVIEW |
WWW,
January 2021 - Brand New, Good For You: all
the way from Greece, we're introduced to
electronic DUB Duo Konstantinos and
Alexandra a.k.a. IGL and Alecho. Filled with
electronic atmospherical vibes, everything
on the foundation of some heavy bass and
drums. Another superb release from
Dubophonic for the lovers of electronic Dub.
In their
own words: "It is the story of a small
atomic structure and ITS journey to the
stars. So significant was this molecule’s
appearance it would change worlds and be the
matrix of life on this planet. It is a
conceptual dub album revolving around the
journey of life, from the water to the
stars, as it is described through the titles
of the tracks, but also through the
inspiring artwork." Well, that sums it
up very well.

HOT
DROP - SUGAR AND SPICE
DUBROOM
MP3 ALBUM REVIEW |
WWW,
January 2021 - The first thing that should
be said about this Showcase album by the
Spanish band Hot Drop and Puppa Shan at the
controls, is this: when you love your
1970's/80's Reggae, when you love your
better Reggae band in analogue fashion, when
you love your better Dub you simply cannot
afford to not have Sugar and Spice in your
collection.
The title
of the album is well-chosen. Even though
everything is mixed exactly the way it was
done in pre-digital times, there's a wide
variety of different Reggae styles. Smooth
Lover's Rock, Hard Roots, pre-digital UK
Roots: good vibes all over the place, that's
for sure. We can only be thankful to both
Hot Drop and the excellent Net Label La
Famille!

MP3 ALBUM REVIEW |
WWW,
January 2021 - None of the tracks on this
album were supposed to be released, but
that's really or only the reason why this
collection of tracks full of niceness and
ire vibes is called the way it is. Coming
from the Dubophonic Net Label straight to
your musical collection. Read on for a
review.
The
computer on which the tracks were originally
stored, was stolen by someone, only Jah
knows. Fortunately, some of the music could
be recovered and as a gesture towards both
the thief and us, the online Dub community
always looking for new music, is also
released as a free Net Album by, as said, Dubophonic.

ARTISTS - UNITED AS ONE
DUBROOM
MP3 ALBUM REVIEW |
WWW,
September 20 2014 - Something brewing in the
Mediterranean: The Maltese Net Label Dub Key
and it's Cyprus based Dubophonic counterpart
joined strength with a solid and varied
(DUB) Roots Reggae release as a result.
Music with a message, music with a soul and
general conscious vibes. Can't refuse this
one.
They've
been anticipating this release with an
excellent promo mix that could be download
only a hundred times. That is, until the day
of the actual album release and -not
completely coincidental- the day of this
review as well. Over here at the Dubroom
we've anticipated with the inclusion of the
very same promo mix in a podcast
released yesterday and a determination to
publish the first review of this more than
excellent album for the online massive.
