Leah Rosier and Uptown Rebel - Ire Vibe
DUBROOM
MP3 REVIEW |
WWW,
September 2014 - One vocal and two Dubs from
the French Original DUB Gathering Net Label,
presenting the Ire Vibe EP featuring Dutch
female singer Leah Rosier riding a, well,
Irie riddim by the French Dub producer
Uptown Rebel. Nuff niceness going on, in
this well digital and well heartical track.
Bordeaux-based
Uptown Rebel, whose album "Random
Road" was reviewed earlier in the
Dubroom shows his ability to create digital
Roots with an impact once again. With Leah
Rosier from Amsterdam singing about how
Ireness will even land at the doorstep on
enemies, at least when it is done in a
musical way. Nuff niceness, no badness.

ASANTE
AMEN - PRAISES
DUBROOM
MP3 REVIEW |
WWW,
September 2014 - Riding an up-tempo One Drop
rhythm, Asante Amen tells us where he gets
his energy, talents and skills come from. In
the same time, he gives praises to the Most
High Jah in such a way that you just got to
start praising the Most High yourself.
Another
contemporary Roots Reggae track that will
drive away the bad vibrations, that will
uplift those that listen to it. Another
crucial free and legal download, for you to
get and be blessed. From the heart, fe sure.

JUNIOR
KELLY - RECEIVE
DUBROOM
MP3 REVIEW |
WWW,
July 2014 - Contemporary Jamaican Reggae,
with Junior Kelly riding the smooth riddim
alongside backing vocals and a well worked
out arrangement is something we can only
thankfully... receive. As far as we could
tell, the track was released on 7"
vinyl in Jamaica and is now also
available for free download at Junior
Kelly's Reverb Nation page.
Junior
Kelly shows just how versatile he is. A
heavyweight Roots Rasta track or a more
smooth one like this: he is perfectly able
to voice the riddim and share a good
vibration while doing so. Download
"Receive" and while you're at his
page at Reverb Nation, consider buying a
track or two more.

MESSIAN
DREAD - DuB WEH SENSELESS KILLAHS FT RAS
KHALEEL
DUBROOM
MP3 REVIEW |
WWW,
July 2014 - "Dub Weh Senseless
Killahs" is taken from Messian Dread's
"Reel
to Real Dubwise" EP, and is a
heavyweight steppers recorded
in Ariwa studio's and subsequently
turned into a really intense and vibe-full
Dub track in the Dubroom. Ras Khaleel is
prominently featured in the production and
not without reason: listen to his voice
delivering a message of consciousness and
hope.
With
backing vocals by Dubstep singer Aiva and a
heavy steppers drums accompanied by a deep,
deep sub bass, Dub Weh Senseless Killahs is
one of the heaviest riddims released from
the Dubroom studio in more recent
times.

YEYO
PEREZ AND BASS CULTURE PLAYERS - JAH JAH
HAVE NO COLOUR PLUS DUB
DUBROOM
MP3 REVIEW |
WWW,
June 16 2014 - Yesterday was a day of
protest against the "Foreigner
Internment Centers", prisons where
people are kept for being born in a certain
place with a certain colour of their skin.
It's all part of the spirit of racism that
haunts Europe since times of memory. To
contribute to the protest, LaFamille has
released an excellent Anti-Racist track with
vocals by Yeyo Perez and music by the Bass
Culture Players.
A steppers track serves as the foundation
for this weapon in the struggle against
racism. Recorded in Spain, mastered in the
UK and originally released for twelve inch
by an Italian label, the recording has come
a long way before it lands in your heart and
soul. And, hopefully, touch the hearts of
someone in your neighborhood who might have
a problem with someone havin a different
colour.

Dennis Alcapone - Got To Be Conscious/Dub To Be Conscious
DUBROOM
MP3 REVIEW |
WWW,
June 2014 - This is the second release
in the new Dubroom Studio sound, carrying
the voice of none other than Dennis Alcapone
delivering a musical message over a militant
style Steppers riddim. Real horns, nuff Dub
mixing and a positive vibe for the online
(DUB) Reggae Massive!
Got To Be
Conscious comes in two different mixes: the
first one is a (mini) discomix carrying the
full vocals followed by a Dub where the
second is a spaced-out Dubwise track. Both
mixes have their own specific vibe as well.

Ziggy
Marley - PERSONAL REVOLUTION (Live)
DUBROOM
MP3 REVIEW |
WWW,
April 2014 - It takes the band about two
minutes to actually introduce the riddim of
the tune, but then you had an introduction
that provided more than enough food for
thought. On a musical vibe, that is.
Recorded on his USA tour, Ziggy Marley's
"Personal Revolution" features
Santa on drums and was mixed and mastered by
Errol Brown. They need no introduction for
the Reggae connoisseur and they will not
disappoint during the 5 minutes 44 seconds
of the recording.

Ziggy
Marley - DON'T YOU KILL LOVE (Live)
DUBROOM
MP3 REVIEW |
WWW,
April 2014 - More live music by Ziggy Marley
and his band. "Don't You Kill
Love" lasts 5 minutes and twenty
seconds and has that Roots Reggae vibe along
with some very special string instruments
mixed very much on top. It's live, after
all, right?
Right.
The
recording, taken from his 2004 USA tour,
includes improvisation and Dub parts and
features some very crucial drumming that
will not go unnoticed whenever you move and
groove to the tune. Another free tune that
you cannot afford to miss out on.

Ziggy
Marley - Jammin In The Rain (Live)
DUBROOM
MP3 REVIEW |
WWW,
July 2011 - It wasn't directly the
intention, not even on the playlist: there
was some spontanious impulse within Ziggy
Marley which made him say "Jammin,
Jammin" to the band as they played live
in Sao Paulo (Brasil). The result is a
spontanious, but tight performance of the
well known track by Ziggy Marley's father.
The track
clearly shows how Ziggy Marley has made his
own particular way and style of doing the
musical works. It's clear he know the track
inside-out, how could it be any different,
but he and the band definitely build on top
of it. Nice Dubby parts, nuff improvisations
as well ("Jammin in the Rain"),
while they thought that "Jamming was a
thing of the past" it's still going
strong in this 21st Century Time and Iwa!
