are a great way to get yourself familiar
with all kinds of artists and styles you
might like to consider for your next
purchase. It is also a very good way of
experiencing Reggae in an alternative way as
many podcasts are de facto non-stop mixes,
often put together by skillful DJ's and
other Sound System personnel. The Dubroom
has reviewed many of the best podcast(ers)
throughout the years, all of which you can
discover in our reviewed podcast pages. Be

                                  | WWW,
May 2007 - Old people can love the new
stuff, and younger people might be really
into older music. That is one of the strong
                                    points of Reggae: contemporary, yet
                                    timeless. There was a
time wherein Reggae Music wasn't there,
though. We're speaking about the later
1960's, when the music on Jamaica was called
                                    SKA. SKA turned
to Reggae during a brief period in 1968. In
this period, the music was neither called
SKA nor Reggae. The name was... Rocksteady! The
Dancecrasher crew compiled some of the best
Rocksteady tunes, and turned it into a
historical lesson of Jamaican music. BROADCASTER
