WWW,
September 2014 - Whenever you see "Part
One" in the title of an album, it's
always intriguing: when it turns out to
contain niceness, you know there's more of
that niceness coming your way. Right?
Presenting Part One of Studio Dubs,
presenting Dubsynaticx, presenting some Dub
Niceness. Yes I!
Dubsynaticx
is Daniel Rossman, from Vienna Austria. He
grew up with Reggae music and in 2015, he
can look back at ten years of releasing his
music online. Yes, the Dubroom should
apologize to this Dub producer for not
having discovered him before. Is his music
that crucial, you might ask, and the answer
is YES. It's definitely an addition to the
variety in Eurodub and Roots land. We can
get it thanks to the Idren at the
Cyprus-based Dubophonic Net Label,
responsible for this excellent April 2014
release.
Two vocals
track and eight
Dub shots, coming in both instrumental and
vocal flavor. The music is inspired by
1980's style Reggae, set in this year 2014.
With an eye and ear for musical details, the
original riddims Dubsynaticx created for
this album are a true joy to listen to.
Especially when they're getting the Dub
treatment which is the case in all but two
of the tracks of Studio Dubs Part One.
You'll hear
everything: from a spring reverb to some
crucial singing, from string arrangements to
echo's fusing with the Drum and Bass lines.
This is Dub in the orthodox Jamaican
tradition, and it goes well with the music.
Not the kind of Dub that throws you in
another multiverse, this is the kind of Dub
that emphasizes the music and since this is
done in just the right way, it gives that
Ire vibe.
Yes,
everything is very well balanced. Crucial
vocalists like Goldtea, Madi Simmons and
Online Star Singer Sammy Gold are present.
Dubsynaticx knows his musicology, while he
can't be denied technological insight when
it comes to Dub. This is not as obvious as
it might read for some, but let's not open a
can of worms.
Let's play
Studio Dubs Part One and turn up the volume.
It will bring instant niceness to the place.
